ICED TEA TIME!!

Spring is here and summer is in the air, it's time to stock up on your favorite summer time teas! Strawberry mint? Summer Tropics? So many to choose from; visit www.theteacupboard.com and get your favorite.

How do I make iced tea from loose leaf tea you ask? Easy, just follow the directions below for a tasty, refreshing iced tea that family and friends will rave about. I also included a list of my favorite teas to brew as iced tea, check it out!

FRESH BREWED ICED TEA: (Makes 1 Gallon)

Choose your favorite loose leaf tea.

Bring 4 cups of water (1 Quart) to a boil.

Pour into a large 1 gallon pitcher

Divide 16 teaspoons of tea into 4 large disposable paper tea filters, 4 tsp per filter (available on this website under "Teaware")

Steep tea filters in boiling water for 5-10 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea.

Remove and dispose of tea filters

Fill the pitcher up to 1 gallon with cold water, refrigerate until chilled

Serve over ice and enjoy! Ahhh!

As promised a few of my favorite loose leaf teas to make ice tea out of. You can go traditional with a straight black tea such as English or Scottish Breakfast or choose a flavored black tea such as Caramel. Mmmm!

For a lighter tea with a fruity flavor Strawberry Fields green tea hits the spot or Summer Tropics is a white tea that will have you sippin' and dreaming of tropical getaways with warm sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

If you prefer a refreshing tea with out any caffeine or just prefer herbal teas, Berry Creme Compote, Wild Strawberry or Wild Strawberry mint are perfect for that summer berry feel or if you prefer the tropical taste Pina Colada is the ticket! These are just some of my favorites. Any flavor you choose will sure to please and keep you cool and refreshed this summer!
